2011 Home Tour a success!

More than 500 people participated in the 2011 Downtown Homes Tour on October 9, which showcased  examples of occupied urban living space.  With homeowners present in their units, visitors were able to ask questions about living downtown, such as grocery shopping, parking, activities, and more.

Units were housed in everything from carefully restored historical buildings to loft warehouse space to beautiful new construction.  Many of downtown's current residents were introduced to urban living through one of the City People  Downtown Homes Tours, helping Knoxville's center city grow to more than 2,000 residents over the last few years!  Proceeds from Downtown Homes Tour are reinvested back into Knoxville's center city community through grants to downtown causes such as Shakespeare on the Square, Tree Planting, James White Fort, Market Square Farmers Market, and more.

THANK YOU to all the many homeowners, sponsors, and volunteers -- we could not do Home Tour without you!  Please patronize the sponsors that appear in the thank you ads rotating on our Home Page.  Thanks to generous sponsorship, we are able to cover most of the Home Tour expenses and allow the majority of ticket sale proceeds to be reinvested to our downtown community through grants.
